Our aim is to disseminate concise and consolidated information which focuses on diverse silviculture technologies which exist in plantation forests across the world. Information available on silviculture technology is often localised and published in various sources. Even though silvicultural systems differ globally, our cumulative understanding of this subject suggests that there is a lot that various forestry stakeholders can learn from each other. Unlike harvesting, very few international equipment manufacturers exist in silviculture. Furthermore, majority of innovations in silviculture technologies are designed by small local engineering companies or contractors. These technologies are often never exposed to the wider international audience. Forsilvitech aims to an information link between small, medium or large companies to the global market of technology users.
Even though our content makes inferences to various equipment brands and models, Forsilvitech is not affiliated to any specific company. The editors of Forsilvitech are Dr Muedanyi Ramantswana, and Mrs Nontethelelo Ramantswana, and we work closely with our contributors who are well vested with practical and scientific knowledge relating to silviculture technologies. We believe technology can be used successfully to practice good silviculture which facilitates the survival, growth and uniformity of trees. We look forward to sharing information through the various sources available on the website.
