How does it function?
The 2-Row Fully Automatic FiberCell Filling Machine efficiently places plugs with cell diameters ranging from 40 to 60 mm and adjustable lengths from 50 to 100 mm. This machine performs best with a fine substrate that is free from large particles, such as coir, sphagnum peat, or screened composted material. A properly prepared growing medium is crucial for uniform plug filling and the successful development of seedlings. The 2-Row Fully Automatic Filling Machine is well suited for the cultivation of a wide range of tree species. The filling machine’s substrate hopper is equipped with a level sensor that detects when more substrate is needed and sends a signal for refilling. To ensure continuous operation, BCC also offers various machine solutions to supply the filler with substrate automatically.
Configuration and integration
While the machine supports various tray types, using high-quality trays will increase efficiency and reduce operational interruptions. The trays can be fed into the line from either the left or right side, either manually or via an optional buffer conveyor with an integrated destacker. The placing unit can be programmed to position the FiberCell plugs in different patterns within the tray. The integrated spike dibbler is fully adjustable, providing flexibility to accommodate various tray configurations and production requirements.
Connectivity and productivity
Monitoring and adjustments are easily made through a user-friendly color touchscreen. If an internet connection is available on-site, the machine can also be connected for remote support. User-friendly and easy to clean, the machine requires only one operator. It produces up to 4,000 cells per hour, depending on cell size and substrate, ensuring a reliable and high-performance operation.
