What is it?
The AG350X is a mechanised limestone distributor manufactured by AG Metal, specifically engineered for soil amendment in sloped areas. It is a compact implement designed to be coupled to a tractor's three-point hydraulic system, serving as a high-efficiency alternative to manual liming in challenging forest terrains. The unit has a total mass of 520 kg and can carry up to 1239 kg of material.
How does it work?
This equipment was evaluated by the PCMAF-IPEF, and it operates as a blower-type distributor, utilising a turbine driven by the tractor's PTO to broadcast limestone through a directional cannon. It features an effective application range of 15 to 18 meters, enabling an operational yield of 1.82 ha/h, which represents a productivity gain approximately 26 times greater than manual application. While the compact design facilitates quick manoeuvres, the operational cycle is characterised by a high percentage of auxiliary time (54%) dedicated to displacement and refilling due to its reservoir capacity. Despite this, the system maintains a high mechanical availability of 90% and an operational efficiency of 73%.
