What is it?
The Risutec ASP-720 planting head is designed to conduct large scale pitting and planting of plantation forest species such as eucalypts and pines. The excavator-based carrier with the head function optimally on semi-arid and arid flat terrain.
How the machine is configured?
The planting head weights 2600kg and it is mounted on an 18ton excavator. The head uses a soil cultivator which prepares the planting position by loosening and crushing the soil without cutting it. The head also has pitting bars which can be used for clearing harvesting residue which may interfere with the pitting and planting process. The planting head cassette has a capacity of up to 720 seedlings per loading. The head can be configured to include other accessories such as pesticide applicator, fertilizer applicator as well as water and gel if required.
How it works?
The planting machine moves sequentially as guided by the TASK Marking and guidance system. The excavator is able to plant multiple trees on different locations from a single position. In stands with harvesting residues, the head is used to move the slash in the appropriate direction to ensure that the planting position soil surface is clean for planting. The head is then positioned on the cleaned surface for pitting. Only a quarter rotation of the pitting is needed for soil cultivation, which improves the overall planting efficiency. The pitting attachment has an approximate cracking depth of 60 cm with an 80cm diameter. The seedling is then deposited into the prepared soil with the calibrated quantities of water/gel and fertilizer. If required the pesticide is applied automatically over the seedling during the planting operation. In burnt or mulched stands were harvesting residues are not an obstacle, productivity is significantly improved.
Other interesting information
The remote diagnosis service can also be used to make a change to the machine workflow process remotely. Remote diagnosis is a cost-effective approach because it reduces physical visits by the mechanic on site. Risutec ASP series is available in three different sizes. For natural (larger) seedlings, an ASP-150 with a seedling capacity of 150 seedlings per loading is the optimal choice. The ASP-360 with 360 seedlings per cassette loading is intended for light slopes, while the larger ASP-720 is designed for optimal performance on flat terrain.
